Corona lessons learned
The Corona pandemic was a major challenge for the health care system. It became clear that improvements are needed in many areas to ensure high-quality care in the long term.
These learnings were the basis for the creation of a White Paper for a future-proof healthcare system. It provides numerous recommendations for improvements and better care solutions. The content was compiled by a group of authors, based on their professional and personal experiences and competencies.
The special feature of the White Paper: Authors and supporters represent various areas of the healthcare system (science, medicine, nursing, patient advocacy, civil society) and developed common positions and recommendations.
The White Paper for a future-proof healthcare system is a joint initiative in close cooperation with patients, caregivers and medical experts. The intention is to incorporate their expertise and viewpoints into the political process.
The authors emphasize that patient orientation needs to be a central guideline in all reforms of the healthcare system: "Patient-centeredness or 'patient centricity' must not be a phrase in health policy discourse, but it must be a consistent model for action, integrating the patient perspective.
The White Paper analyses structural deficits in the medical landscape and offers recommendations for improvement in many health areas, such as digital health, emergency medicine, and access to specialized care.
